Half Cut Film Festival...
Hosted by Rogue Productions, St Andrew's Film Making Society, Half Cut Film Festival showcases the best in Scottish Student Film.
While there are plenty of great (and not so great) films being made by students all over Scotland, we still lack a widely recognised forum to showcase them to the public. Half Cut aims to legitimise student film, and give professionals the chance to see up-and-coming talent.
This year, our judging panel consisted of animators from PIXAR Animation Studios, a BAFTA award winner and St Andrew's University Rector. Our distinguished guests also gave a presentation and Q&A session, providing our film makers and audience with a chance to meet industry professionals.
Half Cut in recent years has seen gritty drama, musicals in miniature, ninjas on swings, claymation and full lobster costumes. Next year will be no exception, come join us again in 2011 for a star-spangled, red-carpeted evening.

Best Film: Unrealistic Expectations About Love Directed and Produced by Julz Newton
Best Screenplay: Dog's Dinner Directed by Ian Robertson Produced by Jule Rozite
In 1856 Reverend William Buckland, the great British paleontologist, passed away. However, his passion for eating meat reached beyond the grave. ‘Dog’s Dinner’ is a black comedy about an old man, whose reverence for the reverend has given him one aim in life; to taste the flesh of every type of animal in existence. Eating one particular type of animal, however, proves to be a trifle more difficult…
